Men’s New Varsity Head Coach….

Welcome Coach Chris Short, Chattahoochee Varsity Men’s Head Coach

Head Coach Chris Short comes to Chattahoochee after spending the previous 6 seasons as the men’s varsity assistant coach at Roswell High School.  During his tenure at Roswell, they earned multiple state playoff berths and ended the 2016-2017 season as regular season region champions following a 21-6 regular season.   Coach Short has served in multiple roles within the Roswell program, mostly recently as Defensive Coordinator and Scouting Point Person.  While defensive coordinator, Roswell led all of Class 7A men’s basketball programs in points given up per game and held their opponents to an average of 47 points per game.  Prior to his work at Roswell, Coach Short served under Duke Mullis as a varsity men’s assistant coach at Chattahoochee.  Coach Short is thrilled to return to his Fulton County coaching roots at the Hooch!

Prior to moving to Georgia, Coach Short worked in Florida as the head coach at Sebastian River High School, an assistant at University High School, and a team manager with the University of Central Florida under head coach Kirk Speraw.  Chris has his Masters in Sports Administration from Central Michigan University and his Bachelors in Health and Physical Education from UCF.

Coach Short and his wife Amy have two children, Matson and Carter. Amy also works in Fulton County as the head counselor at Roswell High School and a former Chattahoochee counselor.  They are excited to make Hooch basketball a total family experience!
